Getting Ready
For our style, having an hour of preparation is ideal. During this time, we are getting close-ups of makeup being applied and hair being styled.
We will also be capturing candid moments of the bridesmaids and groomsmen as they get ready for the big day. Keep in mind that these are some of the most emotional and fun times of your day, so you don’t want to cut it short. Also, asking your hair/make-up artist to come to where your venue will be makes it a lot easier and less stressful. It will help minimize travel time and everyone will be in the same location.
The lead shooter will be with the bride while the second shooter will be with the groom. While it doesn’t take guys a whole hour to get dressed, there are still tons of candid moments during this time between the groom, his family and friends.

During preparation, having your bridal party put their stuff in another room or in a corner of the room is what I like to call the “junk corner." This way, there aren't any unpleasant items such as undergarments, food wrappers and bags in your beautiful photos.
Having an emergency kit is such a life saver!
Ask one of your bridesmaids/maid of honor or wedding coordinator to prepare the kit in case you need something.
Some ideas the kit can contain are:
- stain remover (Tide To-Go pens and makeup remover wipes are awesome)
- tampons/pads
- small scissors
- mini sewing kit
- hairspray
- safety pins
- bobby pins
- emergency bars (Cliff bars)
- mints
- Q-tips
- Band-aids
- make-up remover of choice
- Advil or Tylenol, just to name a few
